How we began...........
In 2007 an enthusiastic group of Condobolin locals met to discuss how they might showcase Condobolin’s finest gardens. This was during the Millennium Drought and it was important to give the community a sense of direction and positive outlook. The Condobolin Garden Festival Committee was formed.
In 2008 the inaugural Condobolin Garden Festival was held. Some 1500 people, from all parts of NSW, were attracted to the two-day event. The biannual festivals were underway.
The ongoing drought saw the second Festival, to be held in 2010, deferred. Times improved and the second Festival, held in 2012, was a resounding success with seven open gardens, guest speakers, garden stalls and a wonderful jazz night.
In 2014 the third Festival proved even more successful, with bus-loads of visitors and cheerful locals — all eager garden enthusiasts visiting an array of low-rainfall gardens.
Once again the Condobolin Garden Festival Committee hopes to bring enthusiasts from far and wide to showcase an array of town and country gardens of Condobolin. Why not enter the Garden Photography or Scarecrow competitions.
