Paul Kirkpatrick

paulof Estate Gardening in Jamberoo

Paul originally worked as a Secondary English, History, Drama, Indonesian and ESL teacher in Australia as well as overseas in Brunei, Bahrain and Oman.

While teaching, Paul also pursued his passion for plants by studying horticulture at Yallah TAFE.

On arriving home from a teaching contract in Oman, he decided to make his passion, his career, by creating the business, Estate Gardening. Over the last eleven years the business has specialised in the design and maintenance of large acreage gardens on the South Coast.

In 2006 Estate Gardening further expanded into retail, selling quality garden tools and beautiful garden art on-line as well as at garden events across four states.

Last year Paul took on yet another challenge, as manager of the outdoor staff responsible for a heritage listed, Paul Sorensen garden near Wollongong.

Over the years, Paul has also spoken to over one hundred groups (mainly garden clubs) on topics as diverse as French garden design, the flora and gardens of Norfolk Island and roses in New Zealand. Highlights have been presentations at the French Embassy in Canberra, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney as well as for the Australian Institute of Horticulture and the Australian Garden History Society.

When not on the road or engrossed in garden, Paul lives in Jamberoo with his wife, Frances.
